QM Careers is looking to appoint two Careers Information Assistants for 6 months (with the possibility of contract extension) to be part of our expanding careers team.

The main purpose of the job is to act as first point of contact for student, graduate and employer enquiries to QM Careers. This will involve effectively diagnosing client need, signposting to appropriate information resources and services, as well as helping them make best use of these resources.

Reporting to the Careers Information Manager, the role will also involve researching and producing new information resources (both paper and online), making use of new technology and social media to engage and reach our clients. The post holder will conduct online searches to source vacancies, as well as provide administrative and marketing support to the Careers Team.

This role requires an excellent communicator, who is client focused, with the ability to take the initiative and multi-task. The post holder will also be able to work both independently and as part of a team, in a busy environment.

Experience in customer service would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the Higher Education Sector and an interest in peoples’ career development.

To apply for this position please email Kirsti Burton, Careers Information Manager at k.burton@qmul.ac.uk with your CV and Covering Letter explaining why you would be suitable for this role with reference to the Person Requirements detailed on the job description here.

Please note: Academic CVs will not be suitable for this role. For details on how to tailor your CV please see an earlier post here but note that this post refers to an earlier job that was advertised in Careers. The same principles should be followed when applying for this post.
