For those of you that are familiar with the Centre of the Cell, which is part of Queen Mary in Whitechapel, a short-term research opportunity has arisen there. Here are the details for those that are interested.

Freelance Researcher, Centre of the Cell

5 week contract
Salary: £150 per day
Closing date: 25 October 2010

Centre of the Cell is a science education centre; outreach project and online resource dedicated to inspiring curiosity and learning by connecting science to everyday life.

We have been commissioned to research online educational resources about cancer, including research and treatment, aimed at young people aged 11-18 years.

A freelance researcher is required to:
•Research available educational resources about cancer, especially cancer research in English language websites (primarily US and UK).
•Produce a report discussing the similarities and differences between the UK and US Science Curricula; identifying links to cancer resources that are currently available and recommending areas for future development.

Contract type:
A freelance full-time 5 week contract, ideally from 1 November to 6 December. However, we are willing to discuss the option of a part-time contract and can be flexible in terms of working from home.

Salary:
£150 per day.
